Relevant Experience
As with many (or most) genealogists, much of my genealogical experience has involved the compilation of my own family history. This has involved both online and in-person research in most of the US, parts of Canada, Australia, England and Scotland. Several long-term clients have afforded me opportunities to research in states where my own family was not resident. Smaller client projects have been focused on my own state or hometown, and occasionally into Mexico.
In addition to research for my own and my clients’ families, I have been active doing volunteer work. These activities have taken various forms over the years and include volunteering at a local archive, work with volunteer record transcription efforts, serving on genealogical society boards, facilitating/tutoring for genealogical education organizations, and pro-bono research.
I have also been involved as a paid facilitator/tutor for genealogical education programs, and have done contract work on occasion for larger genealogical research firms.
I am presently working as a contract tutor for The University of Strathclyde’s Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies program as well as taking private clients.
